In the early 1960's, community members of Henrico County's West End got together and decided that their area was missing a place for families to gather for swimming, tennis, and other outdoor fun.  Through the enlistment of many helping hands and the raising of much-needed funds, together the group of friends and neighbors formed the Chestnut Oaks Association.

Incorporated in September of 1963, the Chestnut Oaks Association proceeded to purchase land at the corner of Parham and Fordson Roads, the same land which we still occupy.  A pool was built, and the fun began.  A baby pool, tennis courts, children's play area, blacktop with hoop, tennis practice area, and covered pavilion for parties and picnics were added over the years.  The Chestnut Oaks Stingrays Swim Team currently swims in Division I of the Greater Richmond Aquatic League.  Chestnut Oaks Association is still our legal name, and Chestnut Oaks Recreation Association is our commonly used name - the key word being RECREATION!

We offer one of the best private pool and tennis membership values in the suburban Richmond area. If you are not currently a Chestnut Oaks member, please visit our Membership page, and consider the recreational value that we can offer. We'd love to have you and your family become a part of ours!

The staff includes our pool managers, assistant managers, lifeguards, swim team coaches, swim instructors, tennis instructor, front gate workers, and concession workers.  Our staff is a tremendously dedicated group and we are extremely fortunate to have a wonderful team that works hard to bring our members a top notch recreational experience at Chestnut Oaks!
