Welcome to the Chestnut Oaks Swim Team Website! We want to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your dedication and support of the Chestnut Oaks Swim Team. Last season we had over 140 swimmers on our team and we were very proud of the accomplishments of each and every one. We are lucky to have so many wonderful new and returning families who have cheerfully volunteered their time and efforts. It takes over 50 parents to run a swim meet, not to mention the other activities, so we certainly appreciate everyone’s cooperation and time! Once again, we are looking forward to a wonderful 2009 swim season. This year we are swimming in "West" Division II of the Greater Richmond Aquatic League! Grab a PDF copy of this year's handbook!

2009 Coaches

Caleb Miller – We welcome Caleb back this year as Head Coach. Caleb is the head coach for both the Metro and USS teams at the Tuckahoe YMCA. Caleb is originally from Lynchburg where he swam competitively for the Lynchburg YMCA and RFAST.

Claire Verdillo – We are excited to have Claire return as assistant coach this year. Claire has been a member of the stingrays since she was 8 years old! She will be a Senior at Longwood University and is a Liberal Studies major and Spanish minor.

Morgan Avery – We welcome Morgan this year as an assistant Coach. Morgan is a graduate of Freeman’s Leadership center and has served as a team captain for organized scholastic sports. Morgan has been a member of the stingrays since she was 8 years old and is well known as a swim instructor at Chestnut Oaks. Morgan will be sophomore at James Madison University.

Jim Woods – We welcome Jim this year as an assistant coach. Jim is a graduate of Godwin and has been a member of the stingrays since he was 10 years old. Jim swam competitively as a NOVA swimmer where he trained with some very well recognized coaches and brings a good understanding of the sport of swimming to the team. Jim is excited that he is still eligible to swim this season as a Stingray. Jim will be sophomore at The College of Charleston.

2009/2010 Swim Suits

This is the first year of our new team suit. It is made by Speedo and is called “Quantum Splice”.
Suits are available at Disco Sports.

Please Note:

1. All meets start at 6:00 p.m. (with the exception of Rockville)
2. Confirm warm-up times with coaches
3. Each family is to bring a wrapped bake good to each home meet
4. Swimmers should bring team suit, towels, goggles, clothes, money for concession stand, activities for down time, lawn chairs as needed, coolers permitted (no glass)
5. No smoking or alcoholic beverages are permitted on the deck during swim meets.
